Nagoya University Future Society Creation Project
Promoting the settlement of young people in rural areas through the development of "Satoyama Culture Sustainable Tourism" project by local ventures.
In Japan's depopulated mountain villages, we want to create a new livelihood and industry by developing tourism for foreigners.
This is a project to create a sustainable tour destination popular with foreign tourists in what appears to be an "ordinary rural area with nothing special."
In Japan's "ordinary rural areas with nothing special," there are actually many things. Rich nature, unique traditional food culture and way of life, industries coexisting with nature, and charming people.
On the other hand, foreign tourists who have visited Japan multiple times do not want to go to crowded famous tourist spots full of "man-made" attractions. They are looking to experience "nature, local, real" experiences. They can offer these in the form of "ordinary countryside with nothing."
We want to create sustainable tourism businesses that connect foreign tourists with the "ordinary countryside with nothing." This is a research/practical project by Nagoya University for that purpose.
